Sherry Sue (Hamm) Fields, 78, of Waynetown passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at New Albany, Indiana.
Born on Feb. 25, 1946, at Crawfordsville, Sherry was the daughter of Darrel and Blanche (Pierce) Hamm. Her life was characterized by her commitment to both her personal and professional endeavors. Together with her husband, Larry, they ran a successful business and upon retirement, Sherry got to enjoy spending time with her family. She loved attending festivals, with the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival being her favorite.
Sherry is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Larry Fields; children, Heather Fields and Christopher Fields; grandchildren, Spencer Davis (Emily), Marrissa Koerner, Kristen Fields, Matt Harris, and Jon Kelly; great-grandson Lincoln Davis; and brother Gary Hamm.
Sherry was preceded in death by daughter Caralee Glenna and siblings, Jane Moore and Danny Hamm.
Sherry’s wish was to be cremated and a reception for family and friends will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
