Donald ‘Don’ Eugene Bodager, 89, passed away peacefully Sept. 9, 2024, at Ben Hur Nursing Home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1934, at Rittman, Ohio, to Ernest and Bessie (Hanzie) Bodager. Don married Doris J. Oesch on Aug. 3, 1957, spending year 39 loving years together until her passing in 1996.
Don was a history and English teacher for over 29 years, retiring from Tuttle Junior High School. He enjoyed remodeling his house and gardening. Don also enjoyed reading, listening to music and was an avid treasure hunter.
He is survived by his children, Dean (Anita) Bodager of Oviedo, Florida, Deanna (Michael) Simpson of St. Louis, Missouri, and Denise (OJ) Hull of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, Andrew (Tiffany), Morgan, Angie (Doug), Teresa (Brad), Jason (Holly) and Kevin; nine great-grandchildren; and sister Delores Durbin.
Don is preceded in death by wife Doris; parents; brother Denny Bodager; and special friend, Betty McDonald.
Cremation was chosen with a private family celebration of life to be held at a later date.
