Robert ‘Bob’ Ray Wilkinson, 90, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at St. Mary Healthcare Center in Lafayette.
He was born Oct. 15, 1933, at Crawfordsville, to the late Behmer Malon and Emma Margaret (Foxworthy) Wilkinson.
Bob graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1951. He joined the Army Reserves then transferred and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a forklift mechanic at RR Donnelley for 45 years. He loved traveling the country and fixed high end yachts throughout the country. On June 1, 1957, he married Nancy Ellen McMurray, the mother of his six sons, she preceded him in death in 1997. On July 16, 1982, he married Lindell Louise Smith in West Palm Beach, Florida, she preceded him in death Oct. 4, 2023.
He is survived by his six sons, Robert (Sherri) Wilkinson, Donald (Janelle Turner) Wilkinson, David (Terese) Wilkinson, Thomas (Maggie) Wilkinson, Bill (Velinda) Wilkinson and Richard Wilkinson; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frank and Homer Wilkinson; his first wife, Nancy; and his second wife, Lindell.
Cremation was chosen with a graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, with military honors provided by the United States Air Force and Legion Post 72 Honor Guard. Sanders Funeral Care entrusted with care.
