Bruins rough up Chargers

LIZTON — North Montgomery traveled to Sagamore Athletic Conference foe Tri-West and were soundly defeated 70-0.

Charger Coach Josh Thompson said nothing went right for his team.

“It was a case of too many turnovers, not tackling well and Tri-West having short fields all night,” Thompson said.

While Tri-West was rolling to 10 touchdowns by nine different Bruins, the Charger offense could not get on track. The Chargers were held to just 53 rushing yards and 13 passing yards for a total of 68 yards on the long night.

Tri-West (3-4, 2-3 SAC) had a balanced offense with 213 yards in the air with three quarterbacks recording 16 completions on 14 passes. Seven Bruins rushed the ball for a total of 235 yards on 27 rushes.

Charger sophomore Dakota Glasson led the team in all purpose yards. The speedster contributed a total of 89 yards including 69 on kickoff and punt returns. Glasson also led the team with 11 tackles.

“We have to try to learn from this game and get ready to play Frankfort,” Thompson said. “Our guys have to learn when you get knocked down, you get back up. This can be one of those life lessons and we have to respond in a positive manner.”

North Montgomery (2-5, 2-3 SAC) will celebrate senior night Friday at home against Frankfort.
