Clarence Vernon “C.V.” Keeling, 82, of English, Indiana and formerly of Veedersburg, passed away Friday Oct. 4, 2024, at University of Louisville Hospital, with his family at his side.

C.V. was born March 23, 1942, at Veedersburg, the son of Herschel Carl and Esther Lucille (Snyder) Keeling, they have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by three brothers, Gerald “Dutch” Keeling, J.D. Keeling and Michael L Keeling.

He was married to Patricia Marie (Hancock) from 1961 to 1978; they were blessed with four children, Eric, Todd, Lisa and Cory. He married Nancy Archibald on Sept. 16, 1978. They had a loving marriage for 47 years.

Surviving family include: wife Nancy Keeling, English; his four children, R. Eric (Julie) Keeling, Veedersburg, M. Todd (Tricia) Keeling, Hillsboro, Lisa A. (Brian) Galloway, Covington, and Cory D. (Megan) Keeling, Veedersburg; sister Lucille Booe, Veedersburg; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; and a special niece Melissa Archibald.

He loved spending time with his family, gardening, going to auctions, collecting antiques, fishing and farming.

He graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1960; after graduation he served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Alaska and Georgia. He was a 55 year member of the Indiana Carpenters Union, working for Holloway, EH Hughes and Gohmann Construction companies.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 at Dickerson Funeral Home, 303 N. Main St., Veedersburg. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow service at Bonebrake Cemetery near Veedersburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital appreciated.
