Montgomery County United Way campaign chair shares message

Posted

As General Manager of Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power, I’m proud to lead a team that embodies the spirit of being “Community Powered” and prioritizes community engagement and support. We are dedicated not only to delivering reliable electricity but also to uplifting and energizing our entire community. As a municipal utility, we understand the vital role we play in ensuring that our neighbors thrive, especially during challenging times.

This year, I am excited to extend that spirit to our work with United Way of Montgomery County. Just as we strive to power our community daily, United Way and its 18 Partner Agencies are dedicated to meeting the essential needs of our neighbors. Every child in Montgomery County deserves access to quality education. Every individual should have enough to eat, and every family must have the support they need for mental health and well-being. While these may seem like basic needs, the reality is that they are often unmet.

Life can throw unexpected challenges or storms our way — an unforeseen illness can mean missing a paycheck, a broken-down car can divert essential funds, and not every young person thrives in a traditional classroom setting. Even for some, home may be a place of violence and instability. In these stormy moments, United Way and its partner agencies step in, offering critical support and life-changing resources to help our community navigate through tough times.

I invite you to consider making a 2024 gift to United Way. Your contribution will go directly toward our campaign goal, with 100% allocated to the agencies that are tirelessly working to support our community.

By supporting United Way, you’re not just making a donation; you’re powering our community and helping to create a brighter future for everyone. Together, we can ensure that our community is strong, connected, and ready to face whatever storms may come our way.

Donations may be made at www.uwmontgomery.org or sent to United Way in Montgomery County, P.O. Box 247, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.

Allison Huenemann, general manager at Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power, is this year’s campaign chair for the Montgomery County United Way.
