Rose Mary Duncan Barragree, beloved wife, mother, Nana and Nana Rose, passed into eternal rest on June 6, 2024.

Rose was born Nov. 29, 1938, at Linton, to Dorothy McCammon Duncan and Dawson Glenn “Speed” Duncan.

She was a 1957 graduate of Kingman High School, and worked in Dorothy Wright’s Grocery in Kingman before relocating to Crawfordsville and joining RR Donnelly & Sons. She married Larry Gene Barragree, her husband of 63 years, on Sept. 1, 1961, at Kingman. She then became a full-time mother to her daughter, and a devoted Nana to her grandchild. Rose was a long-time volunteer at the Wesley Thrift Shop.

Rose was a talented oil and watercolor artist, and leaves behind a body of her beautiful work for friends and family. Her devotion to her family was limitless, and being a mother and Nana was her true calling and greatest joy. Rose was a giving, loving soul who never turned away from another’s need. She was a helping hand, strong shoulder, and listening ear for generations of friends and family. Anyone who needed love found it at Rose’s door. She maintained a quiet and steadfast faith in Christ throughout her life.

Rose is survived by her Larry of Crawfordsville; daughter Amy (Michael Overdorf) of Carmel; grandchild Vic Overdorf (Jeffrey Wineberg) of Carmel; and baby great-grandson Asa Overdorf-Wineberg. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret Henley and Edith Rush (Dean) of Crawfordsville, and her brother, Jack Duncan of Yountville, California.

Her parents and brother Carl Duncan preceded her.

A private family service was held at Oak Hill Cemetery
