The Montgomery County Free Clinic will celebrate the 10th annual Dining with the Chefs event on Aug. 10 at Wabash College. Jason Anderson, Lali Hess and Rick Warner will bring their culinary teams together to create an unforgettable culinary experience.

Reserve seats now for $85 per person; price includes complimentary wine pairings. Visit mcfreeclinic.org/dining-with-the-chefs for tickets and more info. Don’t wait — the event is almost sold out.

Anderson has been part of the event since its inception.

“Dining with the Chefs is an amazing experience,” he said “I enjoy the collaboration and giving back to the community.”

Chef Martin Gorham joins Anderson in the kitchen again this year.

“DWTC is a great opportunity to offer some of my time and services to a good cause,” Gorham said. “It’s nice to be able to interact with the community and have a good time while doing so.”

Anderson will prepare his “overwhelming loved and ever popular”seared diver scallops and risotto while Gorham will be crafting Salpicon de pollo — a traditional Central American salad.

“Everyone eats. Food brings people together and highlights our commonalities,” Gorham said. “It’s also a great way to recognize different cultures.

“Culinary traditions are a direct line into the souls of people. We can get a glimpse into a culture or heritage that is different than our own. Through understanding and respect we can forge a greater relationship with something we may be unaware of.”

The event will culminate in a silent auction that includes items such Anne Parks framed art, self-care packages and two pairs of rechargeable hearing aids provided by Crawfordsville Audiology.

During the live auction, attendees will have the unique opportunity to bid on a private dinner prepared by Anderson and Warner, who will be joyfully cooking together to support the Montgomery County Free Clinic. Your support will help ensure that all residents have access to basic needs like food, medicine and medical care.

The Montgomery County Free Clinic Inc. is an umbrella organization that includes The Dr. Mary Ludwig Free Clinic, Meals on Wheels, FAITH Alliance and the MontCares listserve.

The clinic offers free medical and dental care to low-income, uninsured residents. Since 1968, the clinic has served over 70,000 people.

Meals on Wheels started locally in 1969. This program ensures 50 home-bound residents receive quality meals and social interaction daily. Annually, more than 15,000 meals are delivered by more than 100 volunteers.

Since 2010, FAITH Alliance has provided no-cost breast cancer screenings. Each year, 70 individuals receive free mammograms through a partnership with Franciscan Health.

The MontCares Listserve platform helps local organizations communicate and coordinate services for residents, reducing service duplication and stretching charitable dollars further.

These essential services are made possible through the generosity of individuals, organizations, churches, businesses and foundations.
