Phyllis I. Trenkle of Lafayette passed away Monday morning, May 27, 2024, at Franciscan Health Lafayette, at the age of 94.
Phyllis liked to bowl, play cards and go out to lunch with friends in her “lunch bunch.” She was also a Purdue Boilermaker fan.
Born March 14, 1930, at Henning, Illinois, she was the daughter of Theodore McLain and Catherine Laflen McLain. She graduated from Williamsport High School.
Surviving family includes: two daughters, Marsha (John) Wells and Chris Van Laere; two grandchildren, Amy (Sam) Wells and Patrick (Laura) Wells; four great-grandchildren, Ali, Carter, Nolan and Regan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Shirley (Dean) May; and brother Bobby (Marge) McLain.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 31 at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
