Percie Odell Sandlin Jr., 63, of Attica passed away at 3:20 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, in IU/Arnett Hospital Lafayette following a battle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 19, 1960, at Danville, Illinois, son of Percie Odell Sr. and Ronna Lea Cox Sandlin. They survive in Mellott.

Percie attended Fountain Central High School and lived in Attica the past 20 years moving there from Mellott. He retired from Harrison Steel Casting in February 2024, where he was employed as a “burner.”

Percie was a member of the Attica Moose Lodge, was an avid pool player, enjoyed time with his family, a Colts, Cubs and Budweiser fan!

Survivors include: his parents, Percie Odell and Ronna Lea Sandlin of Mellott; sister Ronda (Steven) Mitton of Attica; three brothers, Bernie (Debbie) Sandlin, Rod Sandlin and Cody Sandlin, all of Mellott; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, many aunts and uncles and a nephew Jacob Simmons.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, with funeral services following at 1 p.m., at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Burial will follow in Cold Springs Cemetery near Veedersburg.
