Nancy Joan (Miller) Buser, 85, of Roachdale was called to Heaven on June 16, 2024, to be with her Lord and Savior.

Nancy was born June 21, 1938, at Watseka, Illinois, to Cecil George and Helen Theadora Baker Miller. Nancy lived near Armstrong, Illinois until she was 3 years old, when the family then moved to Parkersburg, Indiana, where she attended New Market school. Later they moved near North Salem where Nancy attended and graduated from North Salem schools.

Nancy married Wayne Allen Buser at the North Salem Methodist Church on June 3, 1956. Wayne preceded her in death in 2017.

They became the parents of Joseph Wayne Buser, Joan Elizabeth Buser Knapp (Forest), Jon Charles Buser and Jana Jo Buser Anderson (Mark), who survive. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer Jo Knapp Jackson (Jeff), Neal Allen Knapp (Adrea), Courtney Lyn Buser, Rene Nicole Buser Cook (Garrett), Alexandria Jane Anderson Chestnut (Cameron), Andrew Wayne Anderson and Tyler James Anderson; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Lyn Brock, Brady Lee Brock, Denver Nash Cook, Addisyn Everly Cook and Nancy Miller Chestnut; beloved sister-in-law Marilyn Buser Krug (Bill); several nephews and nieces; and a special family friend, Mary Fordice.

Nancy graduated from IUPUI with a bachelor’s degree and DePauw University with a master’s degree in education. She taught at Bainbridge Elementary for many years. Her affiliations have included memberships in ADK Educators Sorority, Delta Theta Tau, Philanthropy Sorority, DAR, Order of the Eastern Star, Putnam County Retired Teachers, 100 Women Who Care and other social groups. Her most important membership is with the Roachdale Christian Church where she was an organist for many years and active in other ministries. Nancy also served as the organist for Order of the Eastern Star and Perkins Funeral Home for many years. Nancy’s happiest times were being with her family and friends.

The family would like to especially thank the loving staff of Mill Pond Health Campus and Life’s Journey Hospice.

In every memory shared and every heart touched by Nancy’s love and kindness, her spirit will continue to live on through her family and friends. May she rest in peace knowing she made the world a better place through her unwavering love for those around her.

Visitation will be at the Roachdale Christian Church on Friday, June 21 starting at 1 p.m., with the funeral following at 3 p.m. Servies & Morgan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

On Nancy’s behalf, donations to the Roachdale Christian Church can be made and are very much appreciated.
