Mary Jane Hershberger, 68, passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2024, at her residence in Ellenton, Florida, and went to be with her Heavenly Father.
Mary was born Aug. 16, 1956, at Aurora, Illinois, to her parents, Richard E. Uhl and Marian C. Uhl, who have preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her brother, Bruce A. Uhl, and her husband, Paul Hershberger.
Mary is survived by her children: Matthew Steven (Diana) Wilke of Cape Coral, Florida, and Rachel Ann (Duffy) Wilke-Thornburg of Crawfordsville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ciara Jalann and Isaiah Steven Wilke, Kierrah, Rylee and McKenzie Thornburg, Daniela (Bradley) Rambhajan and Breanna Werner. Additionally, she leaves behind several step-children, step-grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren, as well as her three sisters, Lynn (Mike) Shulse, Cathy (Craig) Zastrow and Trish (Gene) Dickerson.
Mary cherished spending time with her family. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse for several years, committed to the care of others. Mary had a passion for gardening and took great pride in maintaining her beautiful garden. Her loving spirit is now in Heaven, experiencing boundless joy and peace with Jesus and her loved ones. Mary was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.
Mary will be cremated, and a private ceremony will be held in Florida at a later date.
