Kenneth Carsten Lemkau, 81, of Crawfordsville passed away May 19, 2024, at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.

He was born Sept. 29, 1942, at Peoria, Illinois, to Kenneth Carsten and Vernette (Johnson) Lemkau.

Mr. Lemkau attended the University of Iowa, received a B.S. degree from Southern Illinois University and his M.B.A. from Georgia State. In addition, he received is C.P.A. certification. He had been the C.F.O of Mid-States and was also the owner of National Extrusion.

He served in the U.S. Army. His memberships included First United Methodist Church; American Legion Post #72; Elks, where he was a state officer; Masonic Lodge; National Rifle Association; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; and Ben Hur Car Club. He was a volunteer for the Community Christmas Dinner for many years and was in charge of the meals delivered.

Survivors include: brother Dennis (Delores) Lemkau; sister Nancy Whaley; and companion Marty Heinold.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 1 at First United Methodist Church, with Brian Campbell officiating. Military rites will be performed by the American Legion and the U.S. Army. Hunt & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family.
