Glenn Larry Livesay, 84, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community in Frankfort.

Glenn was born  Jan. 27, 1940, at Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, to the late Larry and Beulah (Hill) Livesay. Glenn was a 1958 graduate of New Market High School. He served for eight years in the Army Reserves. Glenn worked at Mid-States Steel and Wire.

Glenn worked and retired after 42 years at RR Donnelley & Sons. He was a 50-year member of the Alamo Masonic Lodge, Waveland Christian Church, Turkey Run Golf Course, and served on the South Montgomery School Board from 1978-1986.

On Sept. 10, 1960, Glenn married the love of his life, Joan (Whitecotton) Livesay. They were married 63 1/2 years. She survives. They have three children, Larry Curtis Livesay (Peg), Glenna Jo Livesay and Melinda Ann Ortman (Greg); nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Gary Livesay; in-laws Fred and Velma Whitecotton; brother-in-law Ted Whitecotton; and two great-grandchildren, Dawson Beck and infant Morgan Gentry. His siblings are Billie Ann Thomas (Bill), Sue Howell ( Jack), Kay Bonwell (Denny), Brenda Culverhouse (Mike), Daryl Livesay and Terry Livesay (Sue).

Glenn was a very devoted and loving husband, father, Papaw and Great-Grandpa. He loved spending time with his family. Glenn also loved to play golf, watch sports and listen to music.

Cremation was chosen and a private family service will be held at a later date. Burkhart Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Manor and Ben Hur Nursing Home for their excellent care and support.
