Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Seward, 83, of Marshall passed away June 12, 2024, at Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crawfordsville.

She was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Paul Clouse and Marion Hutton Clouse. She married Theodore F. “Ted” Seward on May 25, 1958, in Parke County. He survives.

Betty was a 1958 graduate of Marshall High School. She was the secretary for the Marshall High School Alumni Association for many years. She was a leader for the Girls Scouts and Cub Scouts. She enjoyed volunteering in Mrs. Donna Woodard’s third grade class at Turkey Run Elementary where she read to the students and was loved by all. Betty was a good cook, enjoyed crafting, gardening, and canning. She dearly loved her family.

She is survived by husband Ted of Marshall; two sons, David B. Seward of Veedersburg and Daniel B. Seward (Kelli) of Marshall; seven grandchildren, Kendall Bruner (Tommy) of West Terre Haute, Josh Seward of Attica, Alex Seward (Ashlynn) of Rob Roy, Delanie Marshall (Seth) of Rockville, Dakota Seward (Emma) of Rob Roy, Dawson Seward of Marshall and Rheann Seward of Roby Roy; seven great-grandchildren, Caiden, Zayde, Beckett, Lakyn, C.J., Eli and Zeke; sister Nancy Anderson of Mecca; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Pat Greene and Judy Crooks.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at Barnes and Rice Funeral Home, 111 E. High St., Rockville, with Pastor Doug Newnum officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Cremation has been chosen with inurnment at Poplar Grove Cemetery east of Marshall.
