Stacy Sommer, left, is the executive director of the Crawfordsville/Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. She spoke to the Crawfordsville Rotary Club at their noon meeting. The mission of the Chamber is to advance a vibrant business community. There are 390 members of the Chamber. Some of the activities the Chamber provides for the community are a ribbon cutting ceremonies for new businesses, networking events and both state and local legislative events. Sommer Speaks at Rotary

Many stories were shared Saturday during a Little Black Dress event to honor Helen Hudson for all the amazing things she has done in her 36 years in Crawfordsville. She and her husband Marc are relocating to Michigan to be closer to their daughter and her family. FISH donations totaled $1,655 (and two bags of groceries). If you still want to make a contribution in Helen’s name, mail a check to FISH, P.O. Box 261, Crawfordsville, and mention it is in honor of Helen. FISH is grateful for the generosity and compassion. Marc and Helen’s new address is P.O. Box 166, Cedar Springs, MI 49319. Employee-owners of Hoosier Heartland State Bank recently gathered at Veterans Memorial Park to present their most recent donation of $16,000. The contribution funded the two granite monuments that flank the 10-foot-tall bronze sculpture of a soldier at the front of the park bordering Washington Street. VMP is organized as a not-for-profit corporation. Its mission is “Honoring All Veterans.” Various parts of the park and its operation are available for sponsorship and underwriting, including purchasing bricks that will surround the center monument. Engraved bricks will recognize veterans and those who support veterans. More information is available on the park’s Facebook page — “Veterans Memorial Park – Crawfordsville.”
