Veedersburg Public Library plans open house

VEEDERSBURG — The Veedersburg Public Library will have an open house from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday to showcase recent additions renovations.

The event will include live music by Bee Ziegler and refreshments provided by the Friends of the Veedersburg Public Library.

A new pavilion area gives the public a place to access the library wi-fi in a shaded environment out of the elements. The pavilion has picnic tables, lights and outlets to charge devices. There is a sloped inclined sidewalk to provide handicap accessibility.

The pavilion and landscaping were made possible by the Southeast Fountain Community Foundation, Town of Veedersburg, Friends of the Veedersburg Public Library and the Covington-Veedersburg Library Board.

Another new area, located in the upstairs library, is a teen zone. This area offers a space for teens to be social and creative in a positive environment. Funds for this dedicated space were made possible by the Southeast Fountain Community Foundation.

New carpet, fresh paint and some rearranging have helped refresh the library. These building updates were made possible by the d’Arlier Foundation.

The library is located at 408 N. Main St., Veedersburg.
