Organizers prep for annual Waynetown Fish Fry

Carnival kicks offs Wednesday; food service to follow

Waynetown will be serving fish Thursday through Saturday at the town’s annual Fish Fry at the park.

Montgomery County’s longest continuous festival will feature food, live entertainment and a full carnival.

Residents can experience the carnival beginning Wednesday. Huesman Entertainment has been the carnival at Waynetown for five years and has become a favorite of local festival fan. Visitors can choose from a variety of carnival foods beginning at 4 p.m. during Carnival Night. Visitors can purchase $20 wristbands to ride all the rides until closing at 9 p.m.

There are no fish meals sold on Wednesday.

The fish will be on the menu from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday’s Waynetown Improvement Committee Day. All proceeds go to the Freedom Festival Fireworks.

The expanded menu on Thursday includes fish sandwiches, breaded chicken breast sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, baked beans, french fries and homemade pies.

The carnival will be offering $25 all-you-can-ride wrist bands.

The Fish Fry on Friday and Saturday helps fund the community club known at the Waynetown Merchants Association. All funds go back to the community.

Serving on Friday and Saturday will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The menu will be fish sandwiches, hot dogs, baked beans, creamy slaw and potato salad. Community churches provide homemade desserts on Friday and Saturday.

The carnival will be open 4-10 p.m. Friday and will be offering wristbands for $25.

On Saturday, the carnival will be open from noon to 4 p.m. with wrist bands available for $20. After an hour break, the carnival will operate 5-10 p.m. Wrist bands will be $25 for the second session.

The annual parade will begin at 1 p.m. and the Boy Scouts car show begins at 4 p.m. Both events are on Saturday.

The Dapper Dan Band will perform from 6-9 p.m. Friday and the Logan Kirby Band will perform 6-9 p,m. Saturday.

Several vendors will be on the grounds

Sizzlin’ Sounds will provide deejay music for the event.
