The Sugar Creek Players are set to transport audiences back to the vibrant 1980s with their production of “The Wedding Singer,” running from July 26-28 and Aug. 2-4. Directed by Brian and Jennie Swick, and produced by Laurie and Correna Vellner, this musical promises a high-energy, heartwarming trip down memory lane.

“The Wedding Singer,” based on the beloved 1998 film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, tells the story of Robbie Hart, a wedding singer with a broken heart, and his journey to find true love. The stage adaptation captures the spirit of the movie while adding catchy songs and lively dance numbers.

Choreographed by Megan Birk, the show features dazzling dance routines that bring the 80s to life. The tech team, led by Mike Melvin, ensures a seamless production.

Audiences will be delighted to see some new faces on The Vanity Stage, including Seth Nunan as the flamboyant George, Sophia Morris as the spirited Holly, and Nicholas Russell as the money hungry Glen. Leading the cast are veteran actor Dustin Gardner and Crawfordsville High School sensation Cimbria Bowling, whose performances promise to captivate the audience.

The show is rated PG-13 and is not suitable for young audiences but would be a perfect date night or evening out with friends. Tickets are available now at www.sugarcreekplayers.org.
