The Montgomery County Free Clinic will celebrate the 10th annual Dining with the Chefs event on Aug. 10 at Wabash College. Guests will watch, learn and taste alongside three teams of talented local chefs as they sit down to a family-style meal.

The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour sponsored by McGowan Insurance Group and Auto-Owners Insurance. Reserve seats now for just $85 per person; price includes complimentary wine pairings. Visit mcfreeclinic.org/dining-with-the-chefs for tickets and more info. But hurry this event will sell out.

This week we want to introduce you to two more chefs: Lali Hess and Brittney Terry. Hess, the owner of The Juniper Spoon, has been part of the event since its inception.

“I wouldn’t miss it. Dining with the Chefs is an extraordinary event for a community of this size,” Hess said. “I love the camaraderie among the chefs, and supporting the Free Clinic is critical. We all have to play our part to ensure our community can provide health services.

“My husband, Doug, and I moved here 20 years ago with the intention of starting a farm-to-table catering business. Montgomery County is such a gem — close access to large cities; great soil, creeks, and climate; and a community that can support museums, green space, a college, a beautiful library, a vibrant downtown, and small businesses. We love it here.”

Executive Chef Terry’s talents will take center stage at this year’s event with the Korean inspired barbecue beef and fried rice main course. The beef is local (generously donated by Sennett Farms), as are the other seasonal ingredients.

Terry and Hess work closely together, from ideas to execution, to create dishes that are grounded in Indiana but with flavors from all over the world. During the live auction, attendees will even have the opportunity to bid on a one-of-a-kind cooking class at The Juniper Spoon!

Your support of Dining with the Chefs will help ensure that Montgomery County residents do not go without basic needs like food, medicine, and care from licensed medical and dental staff.
