CDPL offers Job Search Skills Series

Posted

This fall the Crawfordsville District Public Library is continuing its Job Search Skills Series with a new class entitled Job Interviews 101. Join us 10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 11 in Classroom D in the library’s lower level. This session is free and open to the public with no registration is required.

Come learn how to ace your next job interview. Are you wondering what to wear or what type of questions you may be asked? Are your nerves getting the best of you? Then this class is for you. Job Interviews 101 will include a presentation with plenty of tips on preparing for and conducting your next interview. There will be example interviews highlighting what to do and not do during a job interview. There will also be plenty of time for questions and answers, and anyone interested will have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews.

The instructor for this new series is Lisa Comingore, an assistant librarian in the Adult Services department on the second floor. Before working at the library, she was a human resources professional and recruiter. She has also taught resume writing and interview skills to hundreds of job seekers and is very excited to use this experience to assist library patrons.

If you are unable to attend the class, please keep on the lookout for the next time this class is offered as it will be repeated. You can find all of our upcoming programs and event information on our library’s calendar on our new website at crawfordsvillelibrary.in.gov, or follow us on social media to stay up to date on all of our events.

If you are looking for additional interviewing resources, in our nonfiction collection we have titles to check out such as “501+ Great Interview Questions for Employers and the Best Answers for Prospective Employees” by Dianna Podmoroff (650.14 Pod) and “Get That Job: The Quick and Complete Guide to a Winning Interview” by Thea Kelley (650.144 Kel). Our library’s free ebook app, Libby, also has several titles to help you ace your interview. Additionally, themuse.com is a fantastic resource for job seekers and hiring managers alike.

We look forward to assisting you either in class or on the second floor soon.

Our hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

Lisa Comingore is a library assistant in the Adult Services Department at the Crawfordsville District Public Library.
