Mustangs advance
Fountain Central defeated Covington 5-0 to advance to Thursday’s sectional championship against Parke Heritage. The Mustangs are the host for the sectional.
The championship matchup included two of the area’s top teams. Fountain Central was 12-2 on the season and Parke Heritage was 12-2. Parke Heritage defeated the Mustangs earlier in the season.
In the win against Covington every matchup ended in a two-set sweep of the Trojans.
No. 1 singles Gabe McCollum defeated Urban Roarks 6-3, 6-3 and No. 2 singles Skylar Hoagland beat Carson Schaeffer 6-0,6-0. No. 3 singles Ayden Batchelor defeated Luke Holycross 6-0, 6-1.
Fountain Central’s No. 1 doubles team of Levin McTagertt and Levi Miller defeated Brody Goodrich and Michael Norton 6-1, 6-0 and No. 2 doubles partners William Armstrong and Jose Duarte Grajales beat Grissom Cope and Ben Stewart 6-4,6-1.
Tigers best the Stars
Lebanon defeated Western Boone 3-2 Wednesday to advance to Thursday’s championship match against Crawfordsville in the Crawfordsville sectional. The Athenians defeated Lebanon 3-2 in a match earlier in the season.

Athenians beat Stars
Crawfordsville’s girls’ soccer team traveled to Dover and came home with a 2-0 win over Western Boone on Wednesday.
The Athenians are now 9-6 and the victory gives Crawfordsville a Sagamore Athletic Conference record of 6-1 which is good for second place.
Crawfordsville played Wednesday at home against West Lafayette in the last game of the regular season.
Chargers blanked by Faith Christian
North Montgomery girls’ soccer team lost at Faith Christian on Monday 10-0.
The Chargers (3-11-1) played at Rossville on Thursday.

Mustangs beats Falcons
Fountain Central defeated Wabash River Conference foe 3-1 on Wednesday
Set scores were 25-16, 16-25, 25-17, 25-17.
Aubrey Ashwill led the Mustangs with 12 kills and two aces. Fountain Central recorded 12 aces during the match.
Mustang Josie Harshbarger had six kills.
Fountain Central is off until Wednesday when they play at Riverton Parke.
