Midwest Bale Ties, a family-owned business and leading manufacturer of baling wire products, is excited to announce the integration of a state-of-the-art automated wire forming cell into its manufacturing facility. Operating for more than 25 years in Crawfordsville, Midwest Bale Ties continues to invest in cutting-edge technology to enhance product quality, increase efficiency, and meet growing customer demands across multiple industries.

The new automated wire forming cell will include Computer Numerical Control wire bending, a secondary process mill, a resistance welding station, and Fanuc robot to tend to all equipment. This will significantly enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities. This advanced system is designed to deliver precise, consistent, and high-quality wire products while optimizing efficiency. The addition of this technology will streamline production processes, reduce waste, and improve delivery times for customers throughout North America.

“We’re proud to be integrating this advanced technology into our operations,” said Jason Ramsey, president of Midwest Bale Ties. “As a family-owned business with a 25-year legacy, we’ve always prioritized customer satisfaction and quality. This new automated wire forming cell will help us continue that tradition by elevating our manufacturing capabilities while maintaining the superior standards we are known for. Additionally, it strengthens our commitment to providing for our employees — ensuring we can offer competitive wages, comprehensive benefits, and a secure, supportive work environment where our team can thrive.”

Over the last 25 years, Midwest Bale Ties has grown significantly in both size and reputation.

“We’re proud to see employees who joined us during challenging times now raising families, buying homes, and leading fulfilling lives,” Ramsey said. “Our commitment extends beyond business — we aim to keep Midwest Bale Ties strong for future generations.”

The company also takes pride in its active role in the community. Midwest Bale Ties supports local youth programs, sports teams, and offers internships to high school and college students. Additionally, the company provides 100% employee health insurance coverage, along with quarterly performance reviews and profit-sharing bonuses. These initiatives not only foster local economic growth but also demonstrate the company’s deep commitment to employee well-being and community development.

“As Crawfordsville continues to grow, we are thrilled to see family-owned businesses like Midwest Bale Ties investing in advanced technology,” Mayor Todd Barton said. “This expansion not only strengthens their operations but also brings new opportunities for our community and we’re excited about the positive impact this will have on local jobs and economic development.”

Subject to normal due diligence and local approvals as part of the decision-making process, Midwest Bale Ties will seek tax incentives from the City of Crawfordsville.
