Mounties down Wolves

Southmont defeated Riverton Parke 3-1 at home on Thursday.

The Mounties improved their record to 12-11 and finished the season with five victories in a row.

The loss was just the fourth of the season for the Wolves. Their record is no 25-4.

Southmont will host next week’s 2A regional and will play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday against South Putnam. The Mounties defeated South Putnam 3-0 in the regular season Oct. 2.

 

Trojans beat Athenians

Crawfordsville battled Covington at home Thursday and lost 3-1 on Carrie Sanders Night.

Set scores were 14-25, 15-25, 26-24, 24-26.

Crawfordsville was led by Reese Price with 15 kills. Ally Strickland added 12 kills.

Claire Peacock had 28 assists, 14 digs and three aces.

The Athenian junior varsity won in three sets.

The team raised $1,500 for the Carrie Sanders Scholarship Fund.

Crawfordsville (16-12) will play Thursday against Guern Catholic in the Brebeuf 3A Sectional.

 

Mustangs defeat Indiana Deaf

Fountain Central defeated the Indiana School for the Deaf 3-0 on Thursday.

Scores were 25-6, 25-18, 26-16.

The Mustangs celebrated seniors Josie Harshbarger and Rylee Simko.

Fountain Central (8-19) plays North Vermillion 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Covington 1A Sectional.
