Michael Ray Steele, 72, of Fillmore passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, at home, with his family by his side.
Michael was born Aug. 23, 1951, at Greencastle, to Edgar N. and Virginia “Gail” Steele.
Michael was a graduate of Bainbridge High School of the class of 1969. He was a member of the American Legion in Greencastle. He worked for 22 years at Hi-Tech in Crawfordsville as a foreman.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Edgar “Ed” N. Steele Jr., Gary Allen Steele and Bryan S. Steele (July 1, 2024).
Michael is survived by his wife Rhonda Steele; three children, Deanna Bumgardner (Matt), Jon Steele and Cheryl Blue (Eric); sister Donna F. Williams (Jerry); grandchildren, Abigail Steele, Brice Steele, Kenzie Bumgardner, Jacie Bumgardner, Brayden Baxter, Justin Baxter, Brayden Blue and Megan Blue; great-grandchildren, Mila Baxter and Mason Baxter; his furbaby Micky; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation service will be 4-7 p.m. Aug. 7 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 8, with an hour visitation prior to service. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside at Clinton Falls Cemetery.
