For the past several months, the Crawfordsville District Public Library and Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County have been working with Indianapolis-based 1909 Digital to redesign the library’s website, create a brand new site for the museum and design meaningful and modern new logos for each. We are happy to announce that both websites are now live and ready to explore.
You can find the library’s new website at crawfordsvillelibrary.in.gov. Here you will see our new logo and colors throughout the pages and discover a more streamlined experience with a modern design, easier access to mobile printing, and more accessibility features. Our popular services are showcased as well so that you don’t have to go digging to find what you need. Get a library card, discover our latest arrivals, and see what all we have to offer. Want to explore all the digital content that comes free with your CDPL card? Everything from Ancestry Online to Libby to Transparent Languages can be found together on one Digital Resources page, accessible directly from the home screen.
Navigating the website through a mobile device is now a more enjoyable experience, with access to the catalog, your library account and mobile printing all visible at the top of the home screen.
The Carnegie Museum has its own site as well after years of providing news and information via a few basic pages within the library’s website. Because our museum has so much to share and showcase, the library board approved the creation of this separate site, which is fresh, inviting and full of information on current and upcoming events and exhibits. You can find it at carnegiemuseum.in.gov.
Along with the new websites, the library and museum worked together with 1909 Digital to create new logos for each entity and a shared branding color palette. The museum’s colors are bright and exciting, and the new logo combines those colors in triangular panes within a Kelly green arched window shape that echoes the shape of the museum’s windows. This design, while fun and modern, also honors the history of the Carnegie building.
The library’s colors are on the more softened end of the palette, with the principal color a medium shade of teal. The new logo contains a “C” created from flared shapes resembling opening book pages or flower petals along with the name of the library. The logo illustrates the continual growth and openness vital to anticipating and filling the needs of the community.
