Board OKs street closure and more

The Crawfordsville Board of Public Works & Safety met Wednesday. Members approved:

• A request from Paul Barajas to close Green Street from Pike Street to Main Street from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 17 for the Groovin’ on Green Street event.

• A request from Robb Williamson to place a dumpster at 103 N. Green St. on Aug. 13-14.

• Accepted a quote of $45,900 from Craw-Con Inc. of Crawfordsville to replace concrete aprons on north and west sides of Crawfordsville Fire Department.

• Approved multiple work order requests from Barry Lewis, code enforcement officer, to have city crews mow: an empty lot on DuBois Avenue, owned by Centurytel Fiber Company II; 410 Wilson Ave., owned by Justin Neier; 1208 E. Main St., owned by Claude and Stacey Biggs Jr.; 301-303 W. North St., owned by Dan Malek; and 313 N. Grant Ave., owned by Dan Malek c/o Eddie Sparks and Marsha Jones.

The board also approved requests to mow and remove trash from 1501 W. Wabash Ave., owned by Newrez; 108 W. Franklin St., owned by Stephanie Pool; and 204 S.Barr St., owned by Stacia Hiller.
