Board OKS purchase of police vehicles

The Crawfordsville Police Department will soon have four new vehicles in its fleet.

On Wednesday, members of the Board of Public Works & Safety approved the purchase of four 2024 Dodge Durango Pursuit vehicles. Total cost for the all wheel drive vehicles is $150,750. The final price includes the trade in of three vehicles valued at $8,000.

The four vehicles will be purchased from Fletcher Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Franklin.

In other business, the board:

• Approved a request from Price Excavating to close Lafayette Avenue at Oak Hill Road for two days next week to relocate a water main. The dates for the work will be determined following a meeting with INDOT.

• Approved a professional services agreement with VS Engineering for construction management and construction inspection services. The hourly rates for those performing services range from $115 per hour to $147 per hour. The agreement also includes a mileage rate of 58 cents per mile.

Furthermore, the board approved a task order agreement with VS Engineering for project management and construction inspection services related to the Purple Heart Parkway construction project in the amount not to exceed $350,000.

• Approved an updated engagement agreement with Taylor, Minnette, Schneider & Clutter setting an hourly rate of $200. The last adjustment was made in 2012.

• Approved an agreement between the city and Midwestern Engineers in the amount of $13,500 for engineering services for the wastewater digester project.

• Approved refunds from the city utility office for 1007 Danville Ave. in the amount of $145.41 and for 607 S. Water St. in the amount of $145. 41. The board also approved a request by utility office staff to place the property at 1993 E. Placid Place on the wastewater budget billing system.
