On the strength of a dominating fall sports season, Crawfordsville has taken a big lead in the Montgomery County Chase standings. The Athenians are leading the all-sports race with 24 points. Southmont is second with 14 points and North Montgomery has 10 points.
The Athenians swept boys and girls cross country, boys and girls soccer, tennis and volleyball. The only sport the Athenians did not score in was football.
Crawfordsville is attempting to win the Chase title for the third consecutive year.
