Dan Rogers is a college professor at Wabash College. He has lived in Montgomery County for 25 years. His wife Jill is the pre-med advisor at Wabash and their two children, Trey and Lanie, attended Crawfordsville schools before attending college. And Jules, their 100-pound Alaskan Malamute, keeps them from being true empty nesters.

In his spare time, Rogers enjoys traveling, visiting his kids and attending Wabash College arts and sporting events. The song that always makes him get up and dance is Earth, Wind and Fire’s “September.”

Rogers said his reaction when he was asked to be a Star was “absolute panic.” But he decided to participate in the fundraiser because “almost from our arrival in Crawfordsville, we realized that the Youth Service Bureau was one of the most important resources in the county for at-risk youth.”

Rogers believes the public should come to this event and support Anna Templeton and him because he says, “I’ve spent my whole adult career in higher education and I see the impact that community intervention and support have on kids’ chances of success. Whether they end up in college or not, our young people need all the support we can give them as they navigate challenges in their journey to adulthood.”

Templeton is a dance/gymnastics teacher and an interior painter. She has lived in Montgomery County for 29 years. When not working, she loves spending time with her grandchildren. Her family includes daughter Sophia and husband Mitch and their little girl, Stevie Rose. Also, her son Michael and his daughter Olivia.

Her favorite genre of music to dance to is southern rock.

Templeton started dancing at four years of age and continued through high school. She then went on to study two years at the collegiate level, studying primarily classical ballet and modern dance. She began teaching dance and gymnastics at the age of 13, and still does today.

Templeton participates in the fundraiser “to help the YSB continue their mission in helping the families in our community.”

This her fifth year dancing in the event. She believes the public should come to the event and support Rogers because “he’s gonna rock the house!”
