Chargers claim win over Gophers

North Montgomery shot a score of 227 against Clinton Prairie on Wednesday. The Gophers had an incomplete team.

The Chargers were led by Mallory Inskeep’s score of 44. Freshman Marlee Reed shot a 53. Krestyn Bradford contributed a 63 and Kayla Sankey carded a 67.

“We started the day off rough, but settled down late in the match,” Charger coach Bob Ryker said. “The team’s overall performance demonstrated growth and determination. We look to build on the momentum.”

North Montgomery will be back in action Tuesday against Fountain Central at Rivercrest Golf Club.

 

GIRLS SOCCER

Athenians pick up first win

Crawfordsville picked up a Sagamore Athletic Conference victory Tuesday at Frankfort. The Athenians defeated the Hot Dogs 5-1 for their first win of the season.

Athenian Caroline Novak scored two goals. Maesa Horton, Zari Freeze and Dayanara Fernandez each added one goal for Crawfordsville.

Freeze and Scarlet Martinez each recorded an assist.

Crawfordsville (1-3, 1-0) will host Covington on Tuesday.

 

SCHEDULE CHANGES

North Montgomery boys’ tennis will play Tuesday at Fountain Central.

North Montgomery girls’ soccer at home against Danville will be played Sept. 18

North Montgomery boys’ soccer will be play against North Putnam at
7 p.m. Sept. 12 at home.
