Board sets city trick-or-treat hours

The Board of Public Works & Safety met Wednesday and set this year’s trick-or-treat hours. The hours are 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.

In related matters, the board also approved a request to close West Main Street from Grant Avenue to Barr Street to accommodate trick-or-treaters.

The board also approved:

• A request from Alan Slight to close Ridge Way Drive between 1100 and 1110 from 3:30-7 p.m. Sept. 8 for a block party.

• Approved a refund request for the estate of Cathryn Taylor, 6 W Park Lane, in the amount of $195.

• Approved a change order for concrete work in the right-of-way for the Purple Heart Parkway extension project in the amount of $217,135. The fee will be split evenly with the county. County commissioners approved the change order earlier this week.

• Approved a contract between the city and Plant Brothers Excavating and Construction Co. for $245,940 for the sewer extension project on the city’s south side.

• Approved an agreement between the city, Plant Brothers and Clayton Properties Group Inc. doing business as Fisher Contracting and Excavating to begin installing sewer lines for the Arbor Homes project.

• Approved a work order request for trash pickup at 1509 Edgewood Drive, owned by Daniel Cox.
