Mustangs shutout Frankfort
Fountain Central’s tennis team defeated Frankfort 5-0 on Wednesday.
In the singles matches No. 1 Gabe McCollum defeated Charlie Beardsley 7-6 (3), 6-4, No. 2 Skyler Hoagland defeated Jackson Ravy 6-0, 6-1 and No. 3 Ayden Batchelor defeated Kelby Santos 6-4, 6-1.
The Mustangs No. 1 doubles team of Levi McTagertt and Levi Miller beat Isai Jimenez and Sam McAtee 6-4, 6-3. The No. 2 doubles team of William Armstrong and Jose Duarte-Grajales defeated Landen Stewart and Jack Michael 6-2, 6-3.
The 1-1 Mustangs will play host to Southmont at 5 p.m. Monday.
Mounties drop match to Knights
Southmont was defeated by Lafayette Central Catholic 1-4 on Wednesday.
The lone victorious Mountie was No. 2 singles player Caden Allen. The senior defeated Evan McGlaughlin 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 (7-5).
Mountie No. 1 singles player, Gavin Downey lost 1-6, 3-6. Southmont’s No. 3 singles player Dean McGaughey lost 5-7, 3-6.
In doubles the Mounties No. 1 doubles team of Owen McCutcheon and Eden Hernandez lost 1-6, 3-6, The No.2 doubles team of Alex Garcia and Mikey Harden lost 4-6, 2-6.
Next up for Southmont is a trip to Fountain Central on Monday.
GOLF
Southmont tops South Putnam
The Southmont girls’ golf team opened the home portion of their schedule with a 202 to 250 win over South Putnam.
Leading the way for the Mounties was Addison Meadows with a medalist round of 41. Addison Kendricks followed with a 51, Kelsey Thompson 53 and Kate Myers 57.
The Mounties will host their own Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Crawfordsville Country Club.
