Parke Heritage High School and Middle School FFA members competed in the District VII Career and Leadership Development Events held at Shakamak High School on March 10. This contest includes demonstrations, public speaking and other events to promote FFA and its members. Lilie Mace and Keely Black earned first place in animal science demonstration. They advance to the state competition which will be held in June during the State FFA Convention. Second place participants were Will Patton, agriculture sales presentation; Cade Runyan and Brayton Myers, agriculture mechanics demonstration; and Ella Norman, Harlee Flood, Abby Mathis and Leah Maupin, discovery quiz bowl. Those receiving third place awards were Madison Coleman and Skyley Cloncs, agriculture business management demonstration; Skyley Cloncs, talent; and Addison Ramsay, discovery creed. Other participants were Treyton Burgess, Keaton Ramey, Raegan Ramsay, Mary Stevenson, quiz bowl; Treyton Burgess, prepared public speaking; Carson Rolison, extemporaneous speaking; Emma Norman, employability skills; Josie Bodine and Hailey Liebrandt, natural resources demonstration; Will Patton and Ashlee Clodfelter, horticulture and landscape demonstration; Paige Bishop and Madison Coleman, food science demonstration, Abigail Julbert, discovery prepared public speaking; Stormi Swaim and Lydia Jeffries, discovery animal science demonstration.
