Don and Peg (VanVactor) Roberts will celebrate 70 years of marriage on Oct. 10.
They worked hard and enjoyed operating the family farm in Parke and Putnam counties while raising their three daughters Deanna (Bob) Turner, Donna (Herb) Gauer and Karen (Brett) Stoker.
After a well-deserved retirement, Don and Peg have made their home in Terre Haute. They spent many winters in Florida making new friends, golfing (Don), going on walks (Peg), and soaking up the sun. They also spent time traveling to other states to visit their extended family.
As lifelong Cardinals baseball fans, taking family trips to St. Louis created lasting memories and passed down that Cardinal Nation spirit to generations. They still enjoy attending ISU basketball games and spending time with family.
Don and Peg continue to spread their unending love and support by cheering on their seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren in all their activities.
They attribute a strong faith, grace and mutual respect in guiding them through their marriage.
