The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a scam involving the department and citizens within Montgomery County, along with citizens residing outside of the county.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office would like the public to know that the department does not call citizens to inform them that they have warrants for their arrest nor do they call citizens to inform them that they have pending criminal charges. Furthermore, the sheriff’s office would like citizens to know they do not and will not call individuals requesting money or payment regarding criminal or civil proceedings.
