Delores ‘Dee’ LaFoe

Delores LaFoe, better known as “Dee,” 92, of Crawfordsville passed away on the evening of July 17, 2024.

She was born March 7, 1932, at Gessie, Indiana, to Perry Thomas and Florence Ethel (Collom) Sullivan. She married William LaFoe in January of 1955. He passed away Dec. 6, 1993.

Delores had been a registered nurse, starting her career at the V.A. Hospital in Danville, Illinois, moving on to Culver Union Hospital in Crawfordsville, where she was the charge nurse in the OB/GYN department and later Assistant Director of Nursing. Following that she worked for Houston Healthcare in Ladoga and ending her career as the county health nurse assisting with the Christian Nursing Service and the Well Baby Clinic, retiring in 2000.

She enjoyed mushroom hunting, boating, walking, motorcycle riding, camping and fishing.

Preceding her in death is her brother, Gerald Sullivan, and her sister, Marietta Brewer.

She is survived by her children, Bill (Karen) LaFoe of Greencastle, Dan (Cathy) LaFoe and Suzy (Sam) Billings, both of Crawfordsville; along with six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Cremation was selected with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Hunt & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family.
