Veterans Memorial Park President Kevin Cobb, board advisor Mark Eutsler, vice president Mike Spencer, artist Jesse Melvin, donors Angel and Larry Cooper, VMP board member John Douglas, donor Skyler Sells and VMP secretary Bill Durbin celebrate the completion of the American Eagle sculpture created by Melvin, a chainsaw artist, and funded through a $550 gift from the Coopers and Sells. It was sculpted from the stump that remained from a dying tree that was removed from the park. VMP is organized as a not-for-profit corporation and is recognized as tax-exempt by the IRS under Section 501(c)(3). Its mission is “Honoring All Veterans.” Various parts of the park and its operation are available for sponsorship and underwriting, including purchasing bricks that will surround the center monument. Engraved bricks will recognize veterans and those who support veterans. More information is available on the park’s Facebook page—Veterans Memorial Park – Crawfordsville.
