Tickets for Dining with the Chefs now on sale

The Montgomery County Free Clinic is proud to announce the 9th annual Dining with the Chefs presented by “Michelin Star” sponsors McGowan Insurance Group and Auto-Owners Insurance. The event will take place Aug. 12 at Wabash College. Tickets are on sale now at bit.ly/DWTC23.

Teaming up once again are chefs Rick Warner, Lali Hess and Jason Anderson. They have “cooked up” a new format for the Montgomery County Free Clinic’s biggest annual fundraiser. Get up close and personal with the chefs as they have “unplugged” the traditional head-table and instead will set up four workstations around the dining space for an even more interactive, entertaining, and educational event. As a series of tapas style plates with a wine pairing for each dish, plates will always be hot and fresh.

“Dinner, this year, will consist of a series of small plates prepared in real-time by each chef at our stations,” said Rick Warner, chef, Wabash professor, and long-time MCFC supporter. “Guests will be able to watch the production and ask questions.”

The menu for 2023 features food from around the world including cuisine from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Central and South America. An addition to dessert this year is a new local favorite, a chocolate ganache truffle from Miss Sugar Ray’s chocolatier Raylee Carpenter.

The evening program will include honored guests, inaugural MCFC volunteer awards, and a special silent auction to fund the Clinic’s work to serve un- and under-insured residents of Montgomery County. Reserve seats now for $85 per person or $640 for a table of eight. Don’t wait — the event sells out early.

“I was taught at an early age that it’s important to take care of those in need,” said Monte Thompson from McGowan Insurance Group. “And that is exactly what the Free Clinic does for our community.”

For 55 years, beginning with the Christian Nursing Service, health care providers and concerned members of the Crawfordsville community have been providing a variety of services for un- and under-served individuals and families. The Montgomery County Free Clinic Board incorporated and became a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 2009 as an outgrowth of CNS able to offer similar and additional services.

Montgomery County Free Clinic Inc. offers high-quality medical and dental care and health promotion and disease prevention services to residents of Montgomery County who lack insurance and would otherwise go without basic health care. The MCFC is led by an administrative and medical staff and guided by a generous Board of Directors.

The MCFC also operates the Meals on Wheels program in Crawfordsville and administers the Faith Alliance funds. In addition, the Dr. Mary Ludwig Free Clinic at 816 Mill St., home of MCFC, is a Volunteers in Medicine facility, joining three other clinics in the state located in Bloomington, Columbus and Indianapolis.
