Karyn Douglas was named the 2024 Making Democracy Work award winner. This award, presented by the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, recognizes individuals in our community who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to improving our democracy. Douglas worked in the Montgomery County Clerk’s office for 17 years. For the past seven years, she has been the elected Montgomery County Clerk. She was tireless in making sure our elections were well run and fair. She now serves as City Clerk of Crawfordsville. The plaque hangs in the Carnegie Museum for all to see.
