Julia Jean “Jolly” Cunningham, 93, of Linden died at Clinton House Healthcare Center, Monday morning, July 1, 2024.

Jolly was born April 16, 1931, at Chillicothe, Missouri, the daughter of the late Price Clayton Owings and Julia Margaret Campbell-Owings and was a 1949 graduate of Chillicothe High School. Jolly came from a family of 14 children, eight girls and six boys. She married Ivan R. “Pete” Cunningham on Nov. 16, 1949, at Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death Aug. 23, 2016. They were married for 67 loving years.

Jolly was a member of Liberty Chapel in Montgomery County. She was a full-time housewife that enjoyed fishing, hunting, horses, training bird dogs, gardening and holiday family gatherings with her husband.

Surviving are her three daughters, Brenda Sutton (Leroy) of Long Lane, Missouri, Sandra Birge (Darrell) of Linden and Martha Wedemeyer (Henry) of Roachdale; son Clayton Cunningham of Buck Creek, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son Wayne Cunningham; daughter-in-law Kathy Cunningham and son-in-law David Birge.

Friends may call at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden, from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, officiated by Pastor Rob Wood. Interment to follow at Linden Cemetery.

If friends desire, memorials may be made to the Clinton House Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Frankfort.
