A mobile home in the 100 block of Mercedes Drive was heavily damaged by fire Thursday.
The Crawfordsville Fire Department was dispatched at 9:38 p.m. Thursday to 143 Mercedes Drive in the Imperial Estates neighborhood for a structure fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy smoke conditions and fire through the roof of the home.
Fire Chief Scott Busenbark said firefighters made an aggressive attack on the interior of the mobile home and they were able to bring the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes.
The trailer’s six occupants were not at home at the time of the fire. They arrived home and saw the smoke, Busenbark said.
Fire crews remained on scene for an hour.
There as no damage to nearby structures and no injuries were reported.
Cooking on the stove could not be ruled out as a cause.
