The Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County has extended the deadline for art entries for its 2024 Community Art Show, Home, highlighting the people and places of Montgomery County. Submissions are now due July 10.

Professional and amateur artists are welcome to submit work for consideration. Children’s art is welcome too. Art works will be returned to the artist at the conclusion of the exhibit.

The theme asks community members to present artwork of any variety on what home means for you. Home can mean “where the heart is” and represent a person or relationship. It could also be a physical or spiritual place with a definite architecture or a more encompassing natural place. What does it mean to have a home court advantage? Has your definition of home changed after the COVID-19 pandemic? Is it a sense of peace or job or a different interpretation altogether?

Artists should send images of their art to Janna Bennett at jbennett@carnegiemuseum.in.gov or call 765-362-4622 to make an appointment to show the work or to make other arrangements to view potential art work. Submission deadline is July 10. A decision will be made by the curatorial team by July 19 on selection of art to be included.

The exhibit will be on display from Aug. 17 to Oct. 26.

The Carnegie Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Admission to the museum is free, and the building is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
