Duane Earl Alexander, 61, of Crawfordsville died June 20, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette.

Duane will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

He was born in Brazil, Indiana, to Carolyn Sue Alexander and Wayne Leroy Carr on June 21, 1962. He was with the mother of his children, Tammy Parke, for 14 years. They had three children together.

He liked to go to “grass patch” to do a little bit of fishing and a whole lot of story-telling.  Duane loved to fish, making candles, in his later years he enjoyed watching Westerns, NCIS, and Two Broke Girls. His greatest joy was spending time at cookouts with his kids and grandkids and telling the best stories.

Duane lived in a lot of places and had a great story from every place. Duane worked mostly in construction and was an exceptional painter as well as a dealer in goods and services. When he was younger, he worked in a sawmill in Brazil.

Survivors include: daughters, Cailin Alexander (Tanner Lowry) and Crystal Alexander (Matthew Moore); son Jason Alexander (Jasmine Mahan); mother to his children, Tammy Parke; brothers, Dennis Alexander and Lewie Sanders; sister Michele Wolfgram; grandchildren, Julian Moore, Zyadon Alexander, Estelle Moore, Holdyn Lowry, Braxton Reamer and Lydia Sutherlin; nephews, Nick Alexander, Dustin Alexander, Bobby Mallory, Devin Alexander, Luke Fettig, Skylar McNorton, Zach Taylor and Nathan Taylor; nieces, Nikki Fettig and Sammy Schimmel.

He is preceded in death by sisters, Velvet Alexander and Dee Fettig; brother Dwayne McNorton; parents, Wayne and Sharon Carr and Carolyn Sue Alexander; and nephew Isaiah West.
