Cruise-in, concert, movie and more kicks off Summer in the Park

WAVELAND ­— The first summer event at Waveland Town Park is slated for 5:30 p.m. today. A cruise-in will feature classic cars, bikes, fire trucks and other vehicles. All vehicles are welcome with check-in at 5 p.m.

In addition, a vendor market will be open to shop for local items, goodies and last-minute Father’s Day gifts.

Waveland Strong also will have food and concessions for sale. Members of the Brown Lucky Leaf 4-H Club will serve, starting at 5 p.m.

A cornhole tournament begins at 6p.m.

Sponsored by Stevenson Automotive and Hill Top Liquors, The Dapper Dan Band will take the stage at 6 p.m. Danny, Shawn, Joey and the Blanton Family will rock it out to classic rock, blues and country.

Lafayette Ford & GM are the sponsors of the movie “Wonka,” starting at dusk.

Sundae Sundays will be serving ice cream during the evening. All proceeds go towards the revitalization of the town ball fields.

There will be a raffle for car supplies and a 50/50 raffle to support the local 4-H club.

Bring lawn chairs and the family for a fun-filled evening for all ages.
