Chargers to have new faces in 2023

Posted

North Montgomery girls golf has plenty of new faces to its 2023 team as the Chargers season is already nearing the half-way point. Last year the Chargers graduated their top three golfers from a  year ago in Grace Littell, Maggie Yeager, and Grace Shrader. This season both Shayna Ratcliff and Bella Priddy return for their senior seasons. The rest of the Charger lineup will feature new faces to the team such as Krestyn Bradford, Emma Pyle, Jazmen Newlin, and Claire Grimes.

Bob Ryker enters his second season at the helm and knows his team will be young, but are also excited to get better throughout the year.

“We have a lot of new faces this year,” he said. “The girls are working hard day in and day out. Shayna and Bella are our lone seniors this year and we will be relying heavily on them.”

The Chargers have been consistently in the 230’s so far in the beginning of the season in their nine hole matches. They’ll get ready for their first 18-hole meet of the season on Saturday when they make the short trip to the Crawfordsville Country Club to compete in the Southmont Invite. Other key meets for the Lady Chargers this season will be on Sept. 9 when they are back at the Country Club for the Sagamore Conference meet. Just four days later on Sept. 13 Crawfordsville will host the county meet, before all three county teams gather at Harrison Hills in Attica for the sectional on Sept. 16.
