Board opens quotes for 2 projects

On Wednesday, the Board of Public Works & Safety opened bids for a construction project at the city street department and for stormwater work in a neighborhood.

The board opened quotes for the construction of a post-frame building at the Crawfordsville Street Department. Quotes were received from local contractors, Biddle Construction for $102,200 and from R.T. Construction and Services for $119,110.

The board also opened quotes for a storm water project at North Ridge. Quotes were received from Busse’s Excavating of Waynetown for $138,500 and from David Price Excavating of Crawfordsville for $132,920.

The quotes were taken under advisement and tabled for review.

In other business, the board:

• Approved an agreement with RJL Solutions for marketing and advocacy services for the city. Cost is $3,400 a month or $40,800 annually.

• Approved an agreement between the city and Wills Fencing Plus to remove and replace the metal fencing at Kathy Steele Park on the city’s west side at a cost of $13,638. Funds for the work will come from the city’s American Rescue Plan Act allocation.

• Approved work order request from Barry Lewis, code enforcement officer, for mowing at 301/303 W. North St., owned by Dan Malek; and trash collection at 408 Binford St., owned by Aundrea Ellingwood.

• Approved a wastewater bill adjustment in the amount of $203 for 407 B E. Market St., owned by Marta Corey.
