Crawfordsville and Fountain Central each had only three golfers available for Thursday’s meet. Fountain Central defeated the Athenians 166-196.
Fountain Central had three low scores out of the six recorded.
Autumn Payne recorded a 49, Rya Jackson shot a 56 and Bella Bacon ended the day with a 61.
The best Crawfordsville score was recorded by Madisyn Posthauer who shot a 55. Serenity Wright scored a 70 and Alexis Shelton shot a 71.
Fountain Central coach Meghan Doss said after two meets, she sees her team improving.
“Big improvements are being made from just one year ago,” Doss said. “The girls are excited to get this season started. Autumn Payne scored a par in the match while Jackson and Bacon concentrated on minimal putting strokes.”
Fountain Central will participate in today’s Lady Bison Invitational followed by a Thursday meet at Cool Lake Golf Club near Lebanon. Other teams involved with the Thursday meet are Seeger, Attica and the host Western Boone.
Tri-West will come to the Crawfordsville Municipal Golf Course to take on the Athenians on Monday.
