The Southmont cross country teams have reloaded and are ready for more success in the upcoming season. Having graduated top runner Mason Cass, the boys’ team welcomes senior Vince Reimondo, joining after a successful track season, as well as freshmen Paxton Burris, Jackson Fruits and Liam Trautwein. Junior Sam Crum stands out as a rising star.

After a successful last season including two regional sendoffs, Coach Shelley Allen is excited to see the combination of the team’s talents pay off.

“On the boy’s team we have a diverse and talented team,” Allen said. “I’m looking forward to seeing very good things happen for them.”

The girls’ team returns in full force having retained the whole of last year’s team. Darby Cottrell and Ami Shannon return as standout runners.

“This year, we have a team full of veteran runners on the boys’ and girls’ side,” Allen said. “This season looks very promising for the girls, with Darby Cottrell, Jaysa Crull, Ami Shannon and Lennon Woods all returning from last year.”

The team also adds senior Kendyll Bullerdick and sophomore Zuzu Trautwein for a full varsity squad.
