Ricky Lee Dale, 58, passed away on Aug. 31, 2024, at University Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by loved ones. He was a donor hero, donating his kidneys, liver and pancreas.
Ricky was born Oct. 23, 1965, to David and Linda (Toney) Dale in Crawfordsville. He was raised by his grandparents, Abner and Agnes Dale in Darlington.
He attended Darlington Elementary School and North Montgomery High School. Ricky worked construction at various local places including, Richard and Chris Lowe’s Grain Bins, Steve and Judy Helgers Trucking and Tank Sales, Jerry and Jay Busse Excavating and Jr. Stonebraker MSWP. He loved the cross-country road trips in the semi-truck with Steve and Judy Helgers.
Ricky enjoyed coon hunting with his grandpa, cousins and friends from Darlington. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially on the lake.
He is survived by his companion of 21 years, Karen Wilcox; brother Danny Douglass of Thorntown; sister Candace (Harold) Dominique of Georgia; children, Breanna (Devon) Freeman and Dalson Dale; three grandchildren; aunts, Sandy (Chris) Devol of Lebanon, Teresa Hunter of Thorntown and Carol (Mark) Crum of Frankfort. He will also be missed by several friends and extended family.
Cremation was chosen with Sanders Funeral Care Crawfordsville entrusted with care.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
